As microcosms
of the world's oceans, the Great Lakes serve as natural laboratories
for studying and learning about how aquatic systems work. Through
its outreach projects, UW Sea Grant links the scientist's laboratory
to the world at large. Since 1968, the Wisconsin Sea Grant program
has been dedicated to the wise stewardship and sustainable use
of Great Lakes and ocean resources.
A substantial
amount of outreach activities are carried out in the Advisory
Services and Communications
Subprograms via enhancements to teacher training, displays, workshops,
conferences for out-of-school adults, publications, distance learning,
radio programs, video and other electronic media. |
