Emma graduated from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2012 with a B.S. in Ecology and Environmental Biology. She was hired in May as an outreach and communications specialist for UW-Stevens Point Northern Aquaculture Demonstration Facility due to a partnership with University of Wisconsin Sea Grant. Her duties include conducting tours for the facility; social networking and website building; connecting with schools, private fish farms and federal or state organizations in the area; attending conferences; analyzing data; and writing reports and proposals. Some of her past experience includes researching fish species in the Bahamas, working with commercial fisheries, leading Outdoor Education camps and coordinating the Adopt-a-Beach ™ program for the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
