Phil has been with the UW Sea Grant program since 1999. He is the program's assistant director for research. Additionally, he provides information and statewide support on issues related to exotic aquatic species. Phil monitors the spread of invasive species in Wisconsin waters and produces a wide range of outreach materials, including television programs, public service announcements, educational materials, publications and exhibits. He is also actively involved in the Chicago Dispersal Barrier Project. Phil holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from Southern Illinois University.
