Is it a trout or a salmon?

 

button.gif (779 bytes) Radiating rows of black spots on tail fin; no reddish spots on body--rainbow trout

OR

button.gif (779 bytes) Tail fin usually with no spots; reddish brown spots on sides of body except in large lake-run fish

All fish with dark head and body spots on light background (and 7-12 anal fin rays):  rainbow trout, atlantic salmon, brown trout
