This information is intended for Wisconsin faculty members (or
persons having principal investigator status) and students from
the University of Wisconsin System or another Wisconsin college
or university. Non-Wisconsin investigators should go to the National

Current Competitions
Ballast Water Technology Demonstration Program
This Program supports projects to develop, test, and demonstrate technologies that treat ships' ballast water in order to reduce the threat of introduction of aquatic invasive species to U.S. waters through the discharge of ballast water. Two competitions are running concurrently, one to support technologies and practices projects, and one to support a ballast water research, development, test and evaluation (RDTE) facility.
Technologies and Practices
Letter of Intent is due at National Sea Grant Office by 4:00 p.m., EST on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Full proposals are due by 4:00 p.m., EDT on Thursday, April 3, 2008. Only those applicants who submit Letters of Intent by the LOI deadline and who submit LOIs that meet the other requirements of this
notice are eligible to submit full proposals.

Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDTE) Facility
Preliminary proposals are due at National Sea Grant Office by 4:00 p.m., EST on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Full proposals are due by 4:00 p.m., EDT on Thursday, April 24, 2008. Only those applicants who submit preliminary proposals meeting the preliminary
proposal deadline and other requirements of this notice are eligible to submit full
proposals.
