Coloring: back yellowish to olive, sides lighter, whitish belly
Common Names: zebrafish, rockfish, hogmolly, hogfish, Manitou darter
Great Lakes Habitat: Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Ontario, Lake Huron, Lake Erie


The logperch is common in large streams and rivers and in large lakes, especially in waters with sand and gravel bottoms where it likes to spawn. This small fish is sometimes called a "zebrafish" because it has 15-25 dark, narrow, zebra-like bands over its back and sides.
