Northern Harrier — Field ID

Size:  16"-24"

Wing span:  42"-48"

Weight:  11-26 ounces

Color:  Male and female Northern Harriers sport different colors: the male has a silver-gray back and buff underparts, while the female shows a dark brown back, with streaky brown and white underparts. Both sexes have black wing tips and a white rump. Immature Harriers show reddish brown plumage, dark tail bands, and a copper-red chest and belly.
