Least Bittern Migration

Summer Range: The Least Bittern breeds throughout the eastern and central United States and southern Ontario from coastal Maine to Florida, and westward to the Dakotas and central Texas. The bird also is found in scattered localities in western states, in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

Winter Range: Although this bird is not considered a strong flier, it does migrate in the winter to wetlands from Florida and Texas southward into Central America and the Caribbean.
