Color: Adult Cormorants are all black, with turquoise eyes, and mottled orange and black bill. During breeding season, the birds may have small plumes over the eyes that may be colored white, black or mottled. Also during breeding, the birds’ throat pouch becomes intense orange in color. Adult males and females are colored the same; immatures have a pale upper breast and throat, with brownish upper parts and a yellowish throat patch.
