Tools We Use - An Interview With Keith Meverden
Interview With Keith Meverden, State Historical Society of Wisconsin underwater archaeologist

What are some of the tools you use in your research?
In our underwater research, we use all types of tools, from scuba gear to remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and from plastic slates with a pencil to underwater computers. We also use underwater cameras and video recorders. However, I think most underwater scientists will tell you that the actual underwater research is only a small part of the research. For every hour in the water, you will spend days (maybe weeks) doing research, preparing for the project, and analyzing the data that you collected from your dives. That is why the library and the Internet are two of our most important tools.
