Clearinghouse Subscriptions Available

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Subscriptions to Dreissena polymorpha Information Review, the official publication of the New York Zebra Mussel Information Clearinghouse, are now available for $60 annually. The subscription includes 6 bimonthly issues, 1-2 special topical issues and an annual bibliography update. Subscribers are also entitled to free copies of research articles (up to 50 pages) and 2 free searches of the clearinghouse database. Regular review sections include Topical Summaries, Research Update, Current Research, Legislation, Annotations, Publications, Sitings(sic) and Announcements. The clearinghouse is a nonprofit public organization supported by subscribers and by grants from the Empire State Electric Energy Research Corporation, Monroe County Water Authority and Eastman Kodak in cooperation with New York Sea Grant. The Zebra Mussel Update was a 4- to 8-page quarterly national newsletter published by the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute from May 1990 through May 1997. The ZMU documented the spread of the zebra mussel -- an exotic nuisance mussel -- through North America's freshwater environments, especially the Great Lakes, and on efforts to control it.
